HOOP Wat voor beeld roept dat bij je op?
Hoop lijkt op een vogel, die zingt terwijl het nog nacht is.
Het gedicht van Emily Dickinson beschrijft deze metafoor: "Hoop is een ding met veren". Nee, dit is niet te vertalen, ik laat het heel. Als beeld koos ik een winterkoninkje. Voor mij het mooiste vogeltje dat er is.

Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
